James G.Thrower, the son of the late Ernestine Robinson and John Long, was born on July 8, 1931 in Ayden, North Carolina. On Friday 23, 2012 God decided to call His servant James home. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. At an early age, he was compelled to enlist in the United States Army and served his country for three years. After his Military Service , James was hired by the Maryland Transit Authority where he worked faithfully for forty-one years. On January 14, 1960 James was united in holy matrimony to Marquerite Owens Margaret. They were blessed share fifty-two years of marriage. James loved the Lord. He loved Faith Tabernacle and was very supportive of his church. He had an unfailing dedication to study the word of God. When family and friends came over we knew where to find James in his room studying the word. James lost his sight but that did not stop him from studying. He would listen to the Bible on cassettes faithfully. He was a man of few words, but if you said something about the Lord he had an encouraging word for you. Our beloved James leaves to cherish his loving memory; his wife of fifty-two years, Marguerite thrower; one son, Larry Keaton; one brother-in-law, Ollie Owens, Jr.; four stepchildren, Barbara Jones Richard, Charles Owens Marie, Brenda Harville and Patsy Watson; one granddaughter, Gabriella Keaton, six step-grandchildren, Nicole Jones Leslie, Mirla Martin, Lawrence Watson, Craig Owens, Tatum Owens and Amanda Harville; eight step-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Arrie Barnes, Bernice Sutton and Dorothy Barnes, and a host of other relatives and friends.
