JAMES R. WOODARD JR., son of Florence Taylor and James R. Woodard Sr., was born on February 5, 1960 in Baltimore City, Maryland. He departed this life on June 11, 2013 after a lengthy illness. James received his education from the Baltimore City Public School System. Although he left school at an early age, he enlisted in the United States Army at the age of seventeen. There he received his diploma and served twenty-eight years for his country. In 2006, James retired from the Army to spend more time with his family. He married the love of his life on Valentine's Day in 2004. James made numerous friends no matter where he went. James will truly be missed by everyone that knew him. James leaves to mourn: his loving wife, Cherlyn Woodard; his mother, Florence Taylor; his father, James R. Woodard Sr.; his grandmother, Mildred Pieard; two aunts, Rosa Palmore and Mildred Simpson; one sister, Mario Bennett; two brothers, Dale and Erfen Woodard; a niece that he adored and loved as his own, Quintina Jones; two nephews, Jermon Bennett and Jaheim Bennett; and one great-nephew, Prince Washington; and a host of other family and friends.
