James Wyche, 88 passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his
home surrounded by family and friends after an extended illness due to
cancer. He was born on May 21, 1929 in York County, Virginia and was the
son of the late Phillip and Theresa Wyche.

After attending public school in York County, James moved to Baltimore in
1955 where he worked for a number of years as a Press Operator at General
Refractories before eventually retiring. He married Bertha Dennis in 1955,
who he originally met in Virginia prior to his move to Baltimore. James and
Bertha shared over 40 years together until her passing in 1997.

James was an active member of the Arch Social Club of Baltimore for many
years. He had a large network of friends and acquaintances from the club,
many of whom he still remained in contact with.

Later in life, James met Sheila Robinson. Sheila was a neighbor, but they
eventually became friends and companions. Sheila and her family provided
loving care and unwavering support for James over his final years as he dealt
with various health challenges.

James attended and worshipped at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Balti-
more, MD.

James is survived by his brother, Edward Wyche (Violet) of Baltimore, MD;
two sisters, Martha Marrow and Frances Greenwood of Hampton, VA; and
host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Wyche and Ethel Wyche,
and his brothers, Charles Wyche, Paul Wyche and Robert Wyche.
