IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet M.
Gough
September 10, 1953 – July 15, 2019
Janet Maria Gough was born to Ella Mae and Hosea Chamblain on
September 10, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. She was educated in the
Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Forest
Park High School in 1971. She attended Coppin State College.
She married Eugene Ambrose Gough on November 3, 1980 who
preceded her in death.
Janet loved to spend time with close family and friends, whether
on the phone or in person, she always kept in touch. She
developed a love for music and loved to listen to music all day and
night. Singing brought her much joy, thus she developed her
talent in her youth. So when she joined St Luke United Methodist
Church, she sang with the st. Luke Ensemble for many decades.
Her solos sang with the choir were "Take Me Back" and "Thank You
Lord" and her rendition in a strong alto voice can still be heard in
the memories of her children and friends. Occupationally, she
occasionally worked as a personal care provider and assisted
elderly neighbors with household tasks; but she will always be
known as a loving mother, wife and friend who kept her loved
ones very close.
She suffered from many health ailments throughout her life; but
God strengthened her to persevere and endure those challenges
for many years. Yet at the age of 65, God called her home and she
peacefully transitioned into the next life on Monday, July 15,2019
at the University of Maryland Medical Center after a lengthy
respiratory illness.
She is survived by her daughters Kisha (Thomas) Brown and
Quiana (Fredrick) Jones; stepdaughter, Jacqueline (Walter)
Stinson; grandchildren, Marquise and Keyshawn Brown, and
Ariana Jones; step grandchildren, Kyera and Terrell Stinson; one
sister, Brenda Johnson; one niece, Celena Jackson, and a host of
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
