IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet
Pindell
February 2, 1942 – July 9, 2025
JANET ANGELA PINDELL was born on February 2, 1942 to the late Frederick Dubell Turner and Etta Ardena Turner. She entered into eternal rest on July 9, 2025 following an illness.
Janet was educated in the Baltimore City School System, and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in 1960. As a young teen she was known for her love of R&B music and spent countless hours listening to the Motown favorites. She always surrounded herself with music and shared that love with others.
She was employed at the Social Security Administration and was a loyal employee until she joyfully retired from years of public service. Janet was a long-time member of AFGE Local 1923 and she served as the Local's 18th Retiree Vice President since 2015.
She was also employed as a security personnel by S.A.F.E. Management. During her tenure she had the joy of traveling to various Super Bowl events, and no doubt that was always one of the highlights of the job to which she looked forward to.
She was a joy to work with and always had a smile on her face.
She was enrolled in classes at Edmondson Westside Skill Center for brick laying, and she enjoyed activities which employed the use of her hands. Janet was an advocate for geriatric care services and was enrolled in various certificate programs at Johns Hopkins.
Janet's hobbies included watching football games, she was an avid Ravens fan.
She was a member of a birthday club, where she enjoyed attending luncheons and various leisure activities which included shopping. Janet enjoyed listening to music, collecting albums and dancing. She was known for dancing until she "worked up sweat".
She will be remembered for her: jovial and animated humor, and warm smile.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Turner and Stanley Turner.
