Mrs. Janie Mae Mills departed this life on august 5, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland after an extended illness. She was born in Darlington, South Carolina on October 1, 1922, one of fifteen children born to the laste Nathaniel and Essie Erving. She received hr early eduction in Darlington, South Carolina. She finished her educsation in the Baltimore City School System. Mrs. Mills has been an active member of Fountain Baptist Church for over sixty years. During this time she sang with the Usher's Chorus, in which the name was change by Pastor Dennis Barrow to the Gospel Chorus. The Gospel Jubilee. She loved to sing gospel songs. She loved everyone and was willing to give help to others. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and others. Mrs. Mills is survived by her loving husband, Mr. John C. Mills; daughter, Mrs. Angela L. Mills-Messiah; son-in-law, Mr. Imanali Hli, affectionately called "Holi" Messiah of Long Island, New York; stepdaughter, Christine Hooks of Charotte, North Carolina; sister Margaret Kale of Darlington, South Carolina; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; twenty-eight nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
