Jay Vee Alderman, Son of the late Robert and Annie Alderman was born May 31, 1919 in TEachey, North Carolina. Mr Jay, as he was affectionately called, departed this life on August 21, 2009. God who knows and does all things well and too wise to err, saw it fit to take from use our loved one and took to glory. He was reared in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. Jay received his education inNorth Carolina Public Schools. He was married to the former Mary Laerence for over 61 years and out of this union five children were born; one daughter he nicknamed Peach, four sons, Larry, Bernard, Jimmy and Kenneth Aldermanpredeceased him. In his earlier years he was employed a Bethlehem Ships Yard Co. After serving in the United States Navy, he attended night school to become a cement finisher and brick layer. He established his own cement finishing business and employed several workers along the way. Mr. Jay shared his life with his family, friends and neighbors. Jay's loving memories and his tender smile be cherished by;his devoted wife, Mary; one daughter, DeloresPeach Johnson; 4 sons, Larry and BernardAlderman, Dewitt and John Coston of North Carolina; 4 brothers, Jeffrey and Willie Alderman, James and Lawrence Carr of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
