Obituary



Jean Redmond Lane, daughter of the late James Paul Redmond

Sr. and Ruth Redmond, was born on November 7, 1949 in Baltimore,

Maryland. She was the second youngest of four children. She

was called home on January 22, 2022 after a brief illness

In November of 1970,,

Year married Wendell (Lo) Waters, and

of this union, their only child Iris Patrice Waters was born. In

August of 1995.

Jean was fortunate enough to remarry and

form a union with Jewell «Dunny" Wallace.

Clean received her formal education in Baltimore City Public

Schools, graduating with honors from Eastern High School, June

1967, in the Business Education Curriculum.

Year obtained a

Bachelor of Science Degree from Coppin State University, and

while attending she pledged and became a member of the Zeta

Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in 1974.

Year furthered her education at the University of Baltimore, graduating with a master's degree in Business. Jean dedicated a large portion of her career being employed by Baltimore City

Recreation And Parks, while working closely with the Mayor, at

times. After her service with Baltimore City Recreation and

Parks, she decided to venture into entrepreneurship, and started

Custom Security Systems, Inc.

This business venture

was

deemed as very profitable; whereas a business proposition was

introduced that allowed her to sell and retire. Unfortunately, retirement

was much too early for her and she accepted an opportunity to

become a Financial Consultant for Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral

Home where she met some of her lasting lifelong friends.

Many may not know that

Year played and enjoyed athletics,

playing on softball and basketball varsity squads, as well as many

other sports.

Yean also loved to travel, extensively, allowing her to

visit other countries with her favorite method of travel being by

way of cruise ship.

Year placed a magnitude of importance on

family and friends, while affectionately being known as everyone's

"favorite aunt'

Mean leaves to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life;

one daughter, Iris Thomas; one brother, James (Jimmy) Redmond Jr.;

one sister, Vera Alford; three grandsons, Jarvis Bogan, Dimeneck

Bogan, Daiquon Bogan; one great-granddaughter, Lyric Bogan; one

great-grandson, Jayden Bogan; nieces, nephews, and a host of

other relatives and friends.

Year was preceded in death by;

father, James Paul Redmond Sr.; mother, Ruth Redmond; late

husband, Jewell Wallace; sister, Arlene Morton; granddaugther,

Desirea® Bogan; and a special fiend, Avalon Green-Lee.
