About midday Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Jeanne slipped away to join her parents and siblings that journeyed before her. Jeanne Estelle Lee was born to the late Minnie and Phillip Lee on May 25, 1922 in Baltimore, "MD. Jeanne was one of seven children, five have preceded her in death: Carriene (peewee), Edna, Audrey (Doll), Prestley OR) and William (Buck). Jeanne attended public schools in Baltimore, "MD graduating from Dunbar High School. On March 23, 1940, her daughter, Miriam was born and she relocated to Remington, VA where she met and married the late Mark Gibson. She later relocated to N ew York City to be near her siblings, Peewee and Buck. Jeanne had an exciting life; at one time she was employed by the actress Joan Fontaine. After spending time in "The Big Apple", she returned home to Baltimore. Jeanne being a gifted seamstress, began employment with the London Fog Company; a union that lasted over 35 years. Her specialty was adding the flaps on the pockets of the raincoats. In her retirement, her favorite pastime were watching Soap Operas and sewing for her friends. Jeanne's best friend, Marlyn, passed early in life and after the birth of Marlyn's grandsons; Jeanne became a surrogate Grandmother and raised them lovingly to adulthood. Jeanne was a tiny person, but so much fun and a loving person. If you had the opportunity of meeting her, you would never forget her or that smile. She was still strutting in her 3-inch heels at her 90th birthday luncheon. As her health began to fail, it became necessary for her to mo;e into an assisted living home. She was lovingly cared for by Mrs. Mary Pack and her family. As Jeanne requested, resting with her is her beloved companion, Pierre, the poodle. Cherishing her memories, are her daughter Miriam Chastine, her sister Alice Lee, her nieces; Glennda, Wade (Michael) Moragae El, Pamela Jones, Joan Moliki, Sharon Boyd, Daphne Meredith. Her nephews; Charles (Chuck), (penny) Bagby. Prestley Boyd III (Skeeter) Numerous great Nieces and Nephews. Her adopted family, the Fernandezs, Marty, Cheryl, Martinez and Marquez; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
