Jeffrey Devon Leach, Sr. "Weedy" was born on May 29, 1955 in Bal- timore, MD. He was the 5th son of the late Benton and Mary C. Leach. On September 9,2015 he made his transition from life to eternity. Jeffrey attended church with his parents where he accepted Christ at an early age and he was baptized at Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church. There, he was a junior usher and sung with the male chorus. Jeffrey attended Baltimore City Public Schools where he later graduat- ed from Frederick Douglass High School. After high school he attend- ed Baltimore City Community College and played basketball for their team. Once he completed his education, Jeffrey married Kay Washing- ton (Leach). From that union, they had 2 beautiful children. He was employed by the State of Maryland for over 30 years, working for Mo- tor Vehicle Administration and Morgan State University. Jeffrey's passion was music. He enjoyed singing, writing and playing different musical instruments. Jeffrey was a family man. Ifhe wasn't singing with his family or The Fabulous Friends, he was spending time with his family, fiancee and friends. On Wednesday September 9, at 10:04 AM, Jeffrey's phone rang and on the other end there was God telling him, "Well done my good and faith- ful servant. You have been faithful in a few things, now it is time for you to come on home". The fiber of our family will surely miss the strength of his character, the encouragement he gave to do more with our lives and the desire to want to do better and become all we can. He leaves to cherish his memory-l daughter, Tynisa Leach; 1 son, Jeffrey Devon Leach, Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Delnisha, Amaisia, Zamia, JaKai, Nazaiah, Dae'zjaunay, Raven; a devoted fiancee of over 10 years, Paulette Whittington; 6 brothers, Benton Leach (Alice Stewart) , Hubert (Sharon) Leach, Anthony Norman (Ivy) Leach, Steven (Alison) Leach, Joe (Vivian) Leach; 1 sister, Mary (Damon) Gasque and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
