IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerome
Berry
December 30, 1941 – December 13, 2020
Jerome Berry, the sixth child of the late Marie Cooper and Joseph Berry was born on December 30, 1941 and transitioned on December 13, 2020.
Romie as he was called received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He was later united in holy matrimony with Mary Commandore Berry (who preceded him in death). From this union one son, Dwayne Berry was born.
Romie was an exceptional entrepreneur opening several successful businesses. He organized the Berry All-Star basketball who competed with other teams in and out of Maryland. Romie was an active member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church until his health began to fail. He served on many boards and organizations. He also was the chairman of the trustee board. Romie was very instrumental in many of the physical improvements of the church. He was never too busy to help anyone. He appreciated all of the visits, calls and cards that he received from his church family.
His biggest enjoyment was eating, playing cards and watching sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Romie leaves to mourn: four children, Dwayne, Janee, Jawanda and Jerome Jr.; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Jordan, Jeremiah, Ayana and Hailey; two brothers, Daniel (Charlene) and Joseph (Doretta); three sisters, Sylvia (Clyde), Beverly (William) and Ida; along with a host of relatives and friends.
