JEROME "POP" RAGINS, son of the late Julia V. Ragins and James Brice, was born on May 25, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on May 4, 2013. Pop received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He was a longshoreman and was employed at the Pompeian Olive Oil Company for several years. In his spare time, Pop enjoyed playing basketball, doing puzzles and hanging with his friends. He also enjoyed working on his car, shooting pool and drawing. His main hobby was playing music; his nieces called him "The One Man Band" because he would play the guitar, drums, and the keyboard while pretending to be "Bootsy Collins" or "George Clinton". He entertained his nieces by imitating "The Midnight Chef" and the "Part Time Chauffeur". He had a sense of humor and a nickname for everyone he knew. He could also give you a few choice words if you got him wrong. Pop was loved by family and friends and will be truly missed. He leaves to mourn: one daughter, Juleena Ragins; one grandson, Robert Timothy Young IV; three sisters, Jean Yahudah, Darlene Ragins and Brenda Frye; one brother, Anthony Ragins; a devoted and loving friend, Joyce Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews. His brothers, Ernest and Gary Ragins preceded him in death. Memorial Service Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
