JESSIE MAE MILLER, daughter of Harry Ellis Gaddy, Sr. and Ethel Mae (McCoy) Gaddy was born November 16, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC; the seventh of ten children. She took her wings on June 21, 2014. Jessie Mae received her formal education from the Chesterfield Public School System. She moved to Baltimore, MD in 1959 to be with her oldest sister, Burnie and seek employment opportunities. Known as Jessie Mae by family and as Ms. Jessie by both young and otd, Jessie Mae was employed for over 30 years as a nurse assistant, ?aprofession she loved and took great pride. She retired from Charlestown Retirement in 2000. After retirement, Jessie Mae took delight in her second passion, her family. She began caregiving for her grandchildren as her family grew. Her first true passion was Christ and living within the word of God. Jessie Mae is best known for her quick SHARP tongue. She was not one to sugarcoat things. However, her humor, dedication, generosity, zest for making the absolute best of a situation, and love for Christ was infectious. You could not spend time with Jessie and not feel the full- ness of her essence. A woman small in stature but enormous in spirit. Jessie was preceded in death by two sons: Ray Charles and Ralph; and her husband, Herbert Miller, in 1993. Jessie Mae was a devoted mother, an adventurous grandmother and lpving friend. Leaving to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Patricia, Priscillia, Peggy and Pamela. Six granddaughters, Paris, Mar- keta, Sherika, KerSharn, Ta'Lia and Najah. Six grandsons, Melvin Jr., Kenneth Jr., NuQuan, Nicholas, Nasaun and Noah and her son-in-law Melvin Johnson, Sr. She also leaves one brother James L. Gaddy of Harrisburg, NC, two sister-in-Iaws, M. Elizabeth Gaddy of Charlotte, NC and Nancy Pewe of Columbia, SC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
