Obituary

Jim Johnson was born to the late Jerry & Ophelia Byrd Johnson in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Jim succumbed to his many illnesses in the early evening hours of Saturday December 20, 2014 after shortly after arriving at Stella Maris Hospice. Jim was educated in the schools of Timmonsville. He took on the role of family historian. He had a keen mind and could rernerfiber the most seemingly insignificant details ofthe lives of the Johnson family. Jim migrated to Baltimore in 1953 to be near his family and to earn a better living. Jim never married and he never had any children. He loved his family very much and he enjoyed being around them until his health began to fail. Jim was a very simple man. He lived a yery quiet simple lifestyle. Whenever he made up his mind to do sornetlting, no one could get him to change. He meant what he said and he said what he meant. Jim loved being in the presence of his family. He loved to laugh and joke with the best of them. As his health began to fail, he enjoyed sitting at home and watching television. Jim accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior shortly before his death. We are evermore confident that he is in heaven at this very moment. Jim was the last sibling of Jerry & Ophelia Byrd Johnson which included: A.C., Jerry (Jay), Moscoe Sr., McKinley, Louis, James, Susanna and Oralee. They laughed together. They looked out for each other. These are values that were learned while growing up in the south. It just doesn't happen much anymore - family taking care of family. Jim leaves to cherish his memory: a sister-in-law, Emma (Moscoe Sr.) a host of nieces, nephew, a close relative, Margaret (Joe), and Phyllis who shares Jim's birthday on December 4, and other relatives and friends. The family of Jerry and Ophelia Byrd Johnson family has now come to the close of an era, the close of a generation. Viewing Joseph H.
