Jimmy Lowther Jr.(
son of the late Jimmy Lowther and Claretha Bland
Lowther, was born on October 23, 1947 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He
departed this life on February 3, 2017.
Jimmy Lowther received his education at Dunbar High School in Baltimore,
Maryland.
Jimmy lived in New Jersey for 33 years where he worked and raised his sons.
He worked as a Machine Operator for Snows Company in New Jersey for 19
years, then he worked for Shores Memorial Hospital in New Jersey for 15
years and from this company he retired. After his retirement he relocated
back to Baltimore, MD to reunite with his loved ones until his death.
Jimmy was a devoted father. He loved his family and enjoyed family gather-
ings. Jimmy "Bo-diddly", as he was affectionately called by his family and
friends loved music, dancing, playing the lottery, taking road trips with his
son, Jimmy, his daughter-in-law and granddaughters. Jimmy loved to have
long talks and spending time with his son, Jimmy Powell. He loved wrestling
and had the pleasure of taking his son Jimmy to live wrestling events. Jimmy
was known for his Kangol Hats and his favorite saying was, "sure you right".
Whenever you saw Jimmy he would always greet you with a smile and open
arms. He was laid back and didn't condone violence or drama. He loved his
family unconditionally and he loved and laughed much.
Jimmy Lowther leaves to mourn: his sons, Jimmy Powell, Kevin Powell,
Kenneth Powell; his daughter-in-law, Dana Powell; granddaughters, Iyanna
Powell, Infiniti Powell, and Dayzja; grandson, Mikey; four sisters, Montina
Lowther, Jessie Robinson, Mary Ann Addison and Jeanette Wheeler; two
brothers, Lonnie and Sylvester Lowther; one aunt, Mary Holley; one brother-
in-law, Wayne Wheeler; one sister-in-law, Bernadette Lowther and a host of
other love ones and friends.
