Joan Leslie Branch-Roberts former wife of Wentley Tyrone Roberts now deceased and the eldest child of Raymond L. Branch White who preceded her in death was called home to her ancestors after a prolonged illness on November 9, 2011. Joanie, as she was affectionately called, graduated from Northern High School of Baltimore, attended Baltimore City Community College, and was an outstanding employee of Blakehurst Retirement Community. Joanie was a very warm, loving, fun, and passionate person. If Joan ever befriended you, you remained her friend always. Joan was an avid fan of Stephen King novels, loved cooking, and sewing. Her greatest love of all caring for her family. Joan leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter Jennell Washington, son-in-law, Kevin Chambers; granddaughters Kaylah and Khloe Chambers; Ariella Roberts; grandson Quentin Roberts; grandaughter, Ava Roberts; devoted and dedicated stepfather, Vernon White; life long love, Arthur Smith Melvin; sisters, Pamela L. Diggs, and Verlyn T. Meekins of Delmar, Maryland; brothers in law, James A. Diggs, and William Meekins; six nieces, six nephews, four great nieces, five great nephew, and a host of relatives an friends.
