Joan Lee Williams was born on March 8, 1942 to the late
John Lee and Daisy Smith in Baltimore, Maryland. She peacefully
departed this life on Sunday, May 20,2018 at Stella Maris Hospice,
after a sudden illness.

Joan was the second child of five children. She was preceded in
death by three siblings; one sister - Louise Bowles and two brothers
- Gerald and Tyrone Smith.

She was blessed with one son; Ryan who she loved dearly. If you
didn't know, you would have thought she had two sons. She
gracefully cared for her youngest brother, Quinn, like her own.
She loved her family, and cared for her mother until God called her
mom home.

Joan was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and -
graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School.

She became employed by the Baltimore Department of Social
Services where she served for almost 40 years as a Caseworker.
She developed several friendships, especially with her long time
best friend, Sharon Washington. In 2009, she retired.

She enjoyed taking drives and dining out with her companion
Darryl Morris. Joan was a very private, sassy, soft spoken,
well dressed woman who loved to SHOP.

She leaves to cherish her memories; son, Ryan Smith (Lisa);
grandsons, Ryan Smith (Little Ryan); Darryl Morris; brother,
Quinn Smith, and a host of family and friends.
