JO-ANN LINDA MORTON, daugther of Lillian W. Scott and the late Harry Stanley Scott, was born June 27, 1955. After a long illness, she was called to eternal rest on Sunday, February 23, 2014. J a-Ann met and married Larry Morton. After their divorce, Jo-Ann met her lifetime partner Cornelius Gaines. Cornelius and Jo-Ann lived with and were devoted to Jo-Ann's mother Lillian after her father's eternal rest. Jo-Ann was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Western High School in 1978. She continued her education by graduating from Morgan State University in 1983. She was a social worker in Baltimore City for twenty years in the Child Protection Unit. As a teenager she loved to model. She was so excited when she was in a show at Mondawmin Mall through Sears Modeling School. As a young adult, she enjoyed bowling. However, her main focus was roller skating at Painter's Mill Roller Rink. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Lillian W. Scott; sister, Cassandra Scott-Carroll; fiance, Cornelius Gaines; brother-in-law, Ronald Carroll; son, Jerard Branch; eight grandchildren; two aunts, Evelyn Scott and Alma Scott; uncle Leonard Scott; and a host of cousins and friends.
