IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joann
Patterson
November 28, 1958 – January 2, 2021
Joann June Patterson was born on November 28, 1958 to the late Brenda A. Jones and June A. Cornish. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on January 2, 2021. She joins her late husband David Patterson.
Joann received her education through the Baltimore City School System. She attended Lake Clifton High School, where she received her high school diploma and learned a trade in sewing, in 1978. Joann had many jobs throughout her life, often working in housekeeping.
Joann accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 2007. She became a member of Rising Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Theodore Addison Sr.
Joann, also known to her loved ones and friends as "Jo", was a small person with a BIG personality. She loved to watch her western and Soap opera, she would be filled with so much emotion that if there was something touching that happened she would shed a tear. She also had a great love for music and she knew how to get the party started. Jo had no problem getting on the dance floor and cutting a rug. You could always count on Jo to show up in a nice outfit with the heels to match. Let's not forget there was always a beer in her cup. Jo also loved spending time with her family. She often would call for her great nieces and nephews. Spending time with her family always brought her so much joy. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Joann leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Judy Estep, Belinda Griffin; a brother in law: Melvin Estep Sr.; one aunt; Vanessa Griffin; three uncles: Roland Griffin, Vondell Griffin, and Albert Griffin; two nephews, Tony Sherarin, Melvin Estep Jr.; two nieces, Phylicia Estep, Hishana Estep; five great nephews, Jamal, Brenden. Avonte, Melvin III, Jamari; three great nieces, Aubrey, Aaliyah, Anari, and one great great niece, Ariel. Also left to cherish her fond memories, her devoted friend Lamont Lowery, a close cousin Lorell and a host of family and friends.
