Joanna D. Vines, was born July 25, 1964 to Joseph and Ethel Gaither. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and was accepted at Montgomery College, fulfilling a desire to advance her education.

Joanna met and fell in love with Ralph Vines during the summer of 1989, while working at 501 Saint Paul Place in downtown Baltimore. After a long courtship they were married in Rockville, MD on July 29, 1994.

While living in Montgomery County, Joanna joined the First African Methodist Episcopal Church and after recovering from cancer she joined the church's choir.

Joanna is survived by: her husband, Ralph Vines; son, Daymar Frank; mother, Ethel Gaither; father, Joseph Gaither; brothers Eric Clanton, Gregory Gaither, and Christopher Cooper; sisters, Tammy Davis, Robin Wilkes, Cynthia Wilson and Alesha Huitt; along with a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Stephany Gantt.
