John Lee Bagwell, son of the late George and Roberta Bagwell, was born on december 16, 1938 in Accomack, Virginia. He was the youngest of twelve children. He was called home after a brief a brief illness on February 28, 2009. He was education in Accomack County Schools. He relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. He met and married the late Sandra Jordon. He worked for the Baltimore City Department of Sanitation for several years. He was later employed by Western Electric. After retiring from Western Electric, he started his own business in landscaping and light hauling. John was a hard worker and encouraged others to work hard. Later John rekindled a relationship with Sarah E. Johnson and they were married on February 24, 1997. From this union a family was united. They were known as Poppa John, Pop and Little Ma. There were two sons, Edward Quick and Maurice Johnson and three daughters, Cassandra Smith deceased, Michelle Johnson and Marlene Jones and a very special granddaughter, Shanita Tisdale. John joined Friendship Baptist Chruch and was baptized on Januaary 1, 2006. The late Charlie family pet was a very important par of his life. John loved people and was ofter known as the life of the party. John "brought the party with him." He was considered the watchdog of his community. His hobbies included photgraphy, arts and crafts, traveling and electronis gadgets. He leaves to mourn; his wife, Sarah Bagwell; two sons, Edward Quick and Maurice Johnson Claudette; two daughters, Michelle Johnson and Marlene Washington Jones David; goddaughter, Michelle Howard Ron; two sisters, Katherine "Mary" Dutton and Louretta Pritchett; fourteen grandchhildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; very special nephew, Stephen Wise; a host of nieces, other nephews, other relatives and friends.
