John E. Kearney son of the late Horasce and Lucille Jones, was born January 16,1944 in Warren County, North Carolina. John was called home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2006. John graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1963. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1964 until 1970, followed by two years in college. He was employed at Bethlehem Steel until his health began to fail. John was loved by all and will be sincerely missed. He was best known for having a beautiful personality and a ''huge heart.'' He always extended a helping hand and supported others. John leaves to mourn a wife Marion Kearney; three daughters, Victoria, Anila and Shannel: three stepchildren, five grandchildren, Skerketta, Nicole, Shawn, Chris and Kevin; four great-grandchildren, five brothers, Arnold, James, Ernest, Melvin and Tyrone, two brothers preceded him in death, William and Mark; three sisters, Chloe, Geraldine and Karen; three sons-in-law, nine sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law; a longtime friend Teresa Ross, a special and devoted friend, Anita Sullivan, Extended family, Tameria, Sarita, Davon and their children and a host of friends, aunts, uncle, nephews and nieces.
