John Quentin Lester, son of Annie Washington and the late John Scott Lester, was born on May 17, 1962. He departed this life suddenly on April 6, 2011. John received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. John was a quiet but outgoing person. He had a good heart and was very generous to family and friends. John had a love of music, clothes and cultural events such as artscape and the Afram Festival. "Johnny," as he was affectionately known, loved the Lord and attending church. For a period of time in his life, John was gainfully employed at the University of Maryland Medical System. John leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Annie Washimngton; and his five children, Kim Timothy, Angela, Jonathan and Tiarra; seven grandchildren, Donovan, Demetra, Jaylen, Timothy Jr., Tiyon, Demar, Miyonna and Kayden; four sisters, Ernestine, Sandra Henry, Garcenia Eldon, Waltyne and Beverly deceased; three brothers, Roosevelt, Johnathan Monica and Harold deceased; three aunts, Pearl, Helen and Agnes; one uncle, Charles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
