John H. Mitchell, known to everyone as "Johnny" was born on February 28, 1943 in

Lillington, NC to the late Ammeretta and Henry Mitchell. He received his education at

Shawtown High School in NC .

.I ohnny left Lillington in 1966 to join his mother and sisters in Maryland where he made

his living as a long shore man in Baltimore City for many years. He loved watching old

cowboy movies and relaxing at home. He never missed a day calling his sisters to check

on them and just to say hello and "J love you". His bright spirit and cool ways always

brightened our days.

He enjoyed hanging with his friends and family especially on holidays. He created his

own birthday ritual of calling his sisters at midnight on their birthdays. Oh how we are

going to miss that! LOL! Wherever Johnny went he never met a stranger' He was just

that likable and lovable to many.

He departed this life early Saturday morning on April 13, 2019. He was preceded in death

by his older sister May Butler and his son-in-law Michael.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one loving sister, Jessie, a caring daughter Sharon and

Kevin, a son Michael, grandchildren Michael, Morgan, Ray, and Shawna, great-

grandchildren, Aaliyah and Mika, his niece Jackie and nephew Terry and great niece

Tiffany and grand-niece Alanah, and a host of other family and friends.
