Obituary

On November 19, 2006, the Angel of god's Holy Mercy guided him home to be with his Lord. John Thomas williams Sr., was born August 11, 1940 in Bennetsville, South Carolina to the late Edwards Williams and the late Ella M. Reid. ''J.T.'' as family and friends affectionately knew him was the second chld of nine. J.T. was baptized and gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a frequent vistor of many churches, but enjoyed attending services at New Psalmist Baptist Church on many Sundays. At an early age, his family moved to Baltimore, where he attended school and graduated from Douglas High School. J.T.'s work career began as an apprentice for a printing company gpt 12 years brfore becoming an independent cab driver for the Yellow Cab Co. This occupation he mastered for 30 plus years. This allowed him to use his gift of befriending and meetin kpeople. J.T. loved people and had and extremely outgoing perasonality that wa J.T . s greatly admired by may. You could guarantee that J.T. would be present at many social function ''dress to nine'' old school saying. J.T. will always be remembered for his personality and his style. He had a flair and style unque to him. He had a passion for hats and western boots which could only be classsified as his trademark. When J.T. was not hanging out with family and gfriends, you would find him at home watching westling a favorite pastime or a good movie. He enjoyed fishing whenever he got the opportunity. J.T. was very family orientated, loving his children, being a positive figure in their lives and always willing to assit them wheneve they were in trouble or when they just needed someone to talk to. This carriedover into his relationship with friends, always there to help when asked and when not asked. J.T. was able to develop and maintain strong lasting relationships. therefore, he willbe truly missed. Two brother precede J.T. in death Eddie Williams and Russell Williams. He leaves to cherish the spriit of his love and memory; his stepfather, James Reid; three daughters, Karen Powell, Robin Williams, Rosalind Green; three sons, John T. Williams Jr., Mark T. Williams, Jayson T. Williams; two sons-in-law, Herman Powell and David Green; five grandsons, Kory, Dion, Mark, David, and Byron; five granddaughters, Keyuana, Demetrius, Erica, Jasmine, Sylva; six great-grand children, three brothers, James L. Williams, Garnett and Willie Reid, three sisters, Dorothy Williams, Yvonne Reid-Carter and Debbie Reid; one brother-in-law, Barry S. Carter; two aunts, Sylvia Jones and Elizabeth Green; one uncle, Willie newton Peterkin; and a host of niecses, nephews and other relatives and two devoted friends; Esvelyn Gilmore and one special brother, Gino Watson.
