John Lee williamson, son of the late Robert Lee Williams and Carrie williams, was born January 27, 1912 in Prince George County, Virginia. AHe departed this life on August 28, 2008. He recieved his education in the public schools of Virginia, later moving to Newport News, Virginia and living there for fifteen years. In 1945 he decided to move to Baltimore where he met his wife, the late Alice Williamson who preceded him in death in 1986. He gained employment at the International Longshoremen's Association working for twenty-nine years and six months. His Christian devotion led him to become a member of John Westley Methodist church in 1956 where he remained an active member until his death. John Williamson was known for his handy work as a skillful carpenter who was responsible for building everything from household cabinets to commercial structures. Woodworking was his passion and he enjoyed working with his hands until his last days. He served as a faithful member of the Hiram Grand Lodge and affilates of Baltimore, Maryland as a Masonic/Mason for sixty years. He leaves to mourn; his daughter, Doris Palmer; two granddaughters, Monique and Paris; grandson, Emmanuel; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Doneyse and Tyree; sister, Florence; nephew equivalent to a son, Rufus Dawson; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters Elma and Maggie and two brothers Benny and Floyd. He will be remembered as a kind and selfess man who believed in freely sharing he wisdom and knowledge with all he crossed paths with. John Lee Williamson will be greatly missed.
