IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnathan Edward
Brown
November 30, 1949 – April 15, 2025
Jonathan Edward Brown, affectionately known as "Johnny" was born on November 30, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Warrington Brown and Elsie Johnson.
A proud Cherry Hill native, Jonathan graduated from Carver Vocational-Technical High School in Baltimore, MD in 1968. After high school, he took up various hobbies and trades, landing him a position with Monarch Rubber Company. However, it was at the tender age of 19 that Jonathan would start working with his brother-in-law, Lamont at "Lamont's Service Station" getting hands-on experience with his family and friend's cars.
On June 28, 1974, he married Phyllis Worsham and through this union came four children, Nathan Demond (preceded his death in 2000), Tanesha Marsha, Tameka Elaine, and Lakeisha Felicia.
While Jonathan was a man of many talents to include home renovation, anyone who knew him, knew they could find him underneath the hood of a car. Working alongside his brother-in-law and nephews, Steve and Leon (deceased) he met and bonded with many people, creating long-lasting relationships. After spending 54 years in automotive repair, in 2022, he dropped his last hood and closed his toolbox, officially announcing his retirement. Shortly after, he took up a new hobby which was bird-feeding, building model cars, and watching his westerns and old movies while enjoying his snacks; jellybeans were his favorite.
Jonathan leaves an amazing legacy who will forever cherish his memory: his loving daughters, Tanesha, Tameka, and Lakeisha; his son-in-law, Darrell Johnson; his grandchildren, Davon, MarQuis, Alexis, Brittany, Meelah, Aiden, Keziah, and Jahzeel; his great-grandchildren, Hailee and Aubrey; his sister, Karen Warfield; his nephews, Leonard Benjamin, Steve Samuel, and Jonathan Hale; his niece, Roslyn Davis; his cousins, Merita Wiley, Gale Smith, Rosetta Burton, Donald Smith, and Raymond Smith; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
