Obituary

JOHNNIE L BROWN was born to Essie Mae Brown and the late John Douglas Brown on December 17, 1959 in Blakely, Georgia. On September 19, 2020 he departed this life suddenly. At an early age, Johnnie was introduced to Christ. He attended church throughout his childhood and was baptized under the leadership of the late Dr. William Rivers, pastor and founder of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He attended and completed his high school education at Forest Park High School. After high school, he enlisted in the military to serve in the United States Army. He returned home and started his career path in the healthcare field. For several years, he worked at Crownsville and Spring Grove State Hospital facilities, working in the Dietary Department. During his tenure in the healthcare field, he was promoted to Floor Technician. After leaving the healthcare field, Johnnie performed a variety of odd jobs, which included plumbing and working on cars. "Johnnie L or JB" as he was often called, loved to laugh, and tell jokes and stories. He always had a story to tell. His favorite pastime included dancing and singing, especially while he cooked. Johnnie also enjoyed basketball. His favorite team was the "Los Angeles Lakers". He also, enjoyed going to the race track and the casinos. A family man, Johnnie loved and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will miss them dearly. He would give his nieces and nephews candy or money and will miss them too. Likewise, they will all miss their dad and "Pop-Pop". Johnnie was preceded in death by his former wife, Desiree; daughters, Victoria and Carla; sisters, Vency and Iretha; and brother-in-law, AJ. Johnnie leaves to mourn: his wife, Samantha; his mother, Essie Mae Brown; daughters, Curtisa, Kaelyn and Debra; sons, Davon, and John John; daughters, Sachet, Trachell, Quin, Quetta, Ashley and Jasmine; sons, Quran and Rodney; nine grandchildren, Dayon, Zion, DeAijha, Gabreiel, Ayna, Davon, Ka'Syn, Jer and Jayden; sisters, Debra and Shawn; brother-in-law, Blue; sister-in-law, Iris; aunts, Dartha and Josie; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
