Johnnie Freeman, Jr. was born on July 9, 1931 to the late Johnnie Albert Freeman
and the late Rosanna Freeman in Farmville, North Carolina. He was preceded in
death were 5 brothers (the late) Arthur Lee Freeman, (the late) Robert Freeman,
(the late) A.J Freeman, (the late) Lester Freeman and (the late) Willie James Freeman.

He departed this life on July 15, 2022, 6 days after celebrating his 91st birthday.
He was affectionately known to his friends as Freeman.
Johnnie received is education in the North Carolina School System. He married the
love of his life Shirley Forbes on December 30, 1955. The couple moved to Maryland
in 1958. Johnnie and Shirley went on to have 4 children, Dennis, (the late) Sandra,
Calvin and Clarissa. Johnnie was employed through the Construction Local Union 194.
Though this Local, he helped to construct a variety of buildings throughout the State of
Maryland. After 30 years with the Local, he retired at the age of 62 due to hip surgery.
Johnnie loved his family. He took pride in providing for his family and loved to travel
to his home town in North Carolina. When it was time to step out, he loved to get
dressed in his suits and a good pair of Stacy Adams. He kept of fresh pair in black,
brown and grey. He also loved to wear a hat or a cap.

Johnnie leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life, his wife Shirley; two sons
Dennis and Calvin; 2 daughters Daisy and Clarissa; two sisters Rosa and Emma Jean
of NC; 7 grandchildren (1 deceased) and 3 great grandchildren and a host of other
relatives and friends. Prior to his marriage, Johnnie was also blessed with
daughter Daisey.
