Johnny Stevenson
Neal
Sep 4, 1954 — Aug 26, 2026
Baltimore
Journey of Life
Johnny Stevenson Neal, affectionately known as “Stevie” by his family and friends, was born to Rosalee and John on September 4, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on August 26, 2026.
Stevie received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System. He was baptized and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life, finding strength through life’s trials and tribulations.
Throughout his life, Stevie held various jobs, including employment at Bethlehem Steel and at Sandtown’s beloved Nelson’s Restaurant.
Stevie had a true love for sports. In his younger years, he was a talented basketball player… a true “baller” who enjoyed being on the court and showing off his skills. His love of sports continued throughout his life, and he enjoyed watching sports whenever he could.
Stevie had a sweet tooth and never turned down something sweet. He could often be found enjoying a cup of coffee, playing card games on his phone, or watching the History Channel. But of all the things he enjoyed, his favorite pastime was talking and joking. Stevie had a way of keeping a conversation going and bringing laughter to those around him. Whether sharing a story, cracking a joke, or simply enjoying good conversation, he loved connecting with the people around him. Stevie was a familiar presence in the community and in every space he entered.
Above all, Stevie was a family man. He loved his children dearly and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. Family was important to Stevie, and he cherished the time he spent with his immediate and extended family. He was a trusted confidant and fiercely protective of those he loved, always willing to offer support, guidance, and a listening ear. The love, laughter, and memories he shared with his family will remain a cherished part of his legacy.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Rosalee Neal. Brother, Tyrone Braham. Daughter, Chanette Neal and granddaughter, Justice Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Johnny Neal Jr. (Stephanie) and Stefanie Croslin (Carlos Sr.). Thirteen grandchildren: Sade, Antoine, Carlos Jr., Devanté, Raytawn, Kayla, Johnny III, Cohen, Cyrus, Bryson, Paige, Paris and Cynric. Five great-grandchildren: Cardé, Devanté Jr., Makayla, Rylin and Skylar. Sister, Rose Harris. Niece, Shalanda Harris. Nephew, Gregory Harris. Devoted partner Brunthelia Lake and a host of great-nieces, greatnephews, relatives and friends.
