IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joquana Geneva
Thomas
April 1, 1992 – March 26, 2024
I, JoQuana Geneva Thomas, daughter of Angela E. Jackson and Joseph D. Thomas was born April 1,1992 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. I was expected to be a boy and a twin however I am the true definition of April Fools' @ 11:59pm I popped out no twin and a Beautiful Little Girl.
A TIME TO DIE
All the plans I had were left undone, loving and raising my children and loving my family, traveling the world, and having new experiences. I want to live life to the fullest and be Unapologetically Me. Most of all I honestly just wanted to be FREE. I was granted True Freedom Tuesday, March 26,2024, after a short illness.
A TIME TO PLANT
"Go Go" as I was affectionately called by all my many children, and "Jo Jo" by the rest of the world. As a little girl Barney was my best friend. I learned tap, ballet, and jazz dancing. Due to my passion for standing up for what is right I always loved a good fight. Despite being a teen mom in 2009 I graduated from Chesapeake High School in Baltimore County, MD. Overcoming the adversities of being a young mother I went on to pursue my dream of opening my own business "Jo Jo's Daycare" I loved children to the point I couldn't tell them No especially to candy! I enjoyed helping others and putting a smile on their faces so much that I was an organ donor and was able to save 2 lives in my transition.
A TIME TO LOVE
I never married; however, I have loved in my lifetime. Most importantly I love my three beautiful children, my family, and my best friends. My favorite thing to do was to put one in the air, unapologetically, and play Spades. I definitely love music, dancing and spending time with my family, that is what has meant the world to me. I was a foodie and loved to try new tastes. If you knew me, you would know I was the life of the party. An important reminder "I LOVE YOU!" And IYKYK.
A TIME FOR SALVATION
I gave my life to Christ at a young age and was Baptized. I fellowshipped most of my young life at Simmons Memorial Baptist Church. Once I got older, I rededicated my life at Changing Life Ministries. My final place of worship was Fragrance of Faith Ministries. I was an active member of The Prayer Chat Group.
A TIME TO SAY SO LONG
My departure was sudden and unexpected. I didn't have time to tell my favorite people how much I loved them, but I know you all should know because I never ended a conversation without saying "I Love You!''. So, I ask that as you remember me just think of all the laughs we had, and we may have shed a tear, but it was all done in Love. Don't look at this as the end, look at it as my new beginning and you have gained an Angel that will be with you always.
