Joseph Henry Boone, Sr. son of Marie O'Brien and William Henry
Boone was born April 17, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed
this life on February 21, 2016. He was well known as Joe Boone to
his family and friends.

Joe received his education through Baltimore City Public Schools.

He served in the United States Navy, and also served as a Merchant
Seamen for several years. His years of service afforded him the
opportunity to travel around The World in service to his Country. Joe
completed various trade schools including Apex Technical School
and Baltimore Tailoring School where he was certified as an Air
Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician and a Certified Tailor.

Joe was employed by various companies in his lifetime including
Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore City Public Works, HAAS Tailoring Company
and in 1991 he retired from Building Services 32B-J in New
York City.

Joe enjoyed socializing with family and friends, cooking, dancing,
listening to Jazz music and he was often observed enjoying his
Favorite Recreational Activity. He dressed meticulously, generally
topping of his outfit with sharp shoes and a sharp hat.

In 1947 Joe married Hattie Ellen Stewart at St. Frances Xavier
Catholic Church in Baltimore City and from that union was blessed
with eight children.

Joe siblings proceeded him in death were Thelma Colbert, Theresa
Jackson, Delores Wooden and Norma Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Hattie Boone; six daughters,"
Michelle Spriggs (Shelly), Adlette Boone (Letty), AIda Yarborough
(Winkle), son-in-law, Tony, Cetra Boone (Sandy), Daphne
Boone (Dirty Reds), Pillard Boone (Peaches); two sons, Joseph H.
Boone, Jr. (Buddy), daughter-in-law, Julia Boone and Alonzo Michael
Boone (Michael); During the course of his life Joe had 4
additional children; Dorothy Mae(Dot), Michael (Zoe), David and
Shana; one sister, Juanita Hairston; one brother, William Edward
Boone Sr., and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great,
great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
