Joseph J.
Brown
April 3, 1945 – June 30, 2022
In the afternoon hours of Thursday, June 30th, 2022, our beloved Joseph "Joe" J.
Brown, 17, was called home to an eternal rest at Future Care in Baltimore,
MD.
Joseph J. Brown, affectionately known as "Joe", was born in Baltimore, MD
on April 3rd, 1945 to the late Carrie Louise Brown and Ernest M. Brown. At an
early age, his family relocated to Baltimore, MD where he received his educa-
tion in the Baltimore City Public School System. Joseph joined the church at
Elder Micheaux's Church of God at an early age. Later in life, he would attend
New Cornerstone Baptist Church around 2016 in Baltimore, MD.
Joe was truly a man of God. If you wanted to know where to find an answer in
the Bible, Joe could tell you where to look. He enjoyed reading books, fishing,
and talking about God. Joe joined the Army as a medic during the Vietnam
War for a few years. He worked as a correctional officer in the Maryland De-
partment of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Also, he was a nurse at
John's Hopkins University. He later went into full retirement.
In addition to his parents, Carrie Louise Brown and Ernest M. Brown, Joe was
preceded in death by his siblings, Pamela Hamilton, Anna Chandler, brother,
Nelson Simms, Tammy Crump, Dorothy Carroll and grandson, William Pierre
Robertson, and Son, Joseph Brown Jr.
Left to cherish his memories, love, and kind spirit are his loving and devoted
wife, Dorothy Brown of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Etta Crump of Baltimore,
MD; nephew, Damon; nieces, Michele, Maria, Kenetta, Janine, Chana, and
Tyese; Great nieces, Jabrae and Jataye; two children, Patrice of Baltimore,
MD and Monty of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Monique, Martise,
Kevon, and Jo-Nai; two great-grandchildren, Delando and Milan; five sisters-
in-law, Virginia, Ardie (Louis), Mary, Stella (Arthur), and Vanessa (Donnell);
three brothers-in-law, John, Joseph (Darlene), Alex (Shawn) and a host of great
