Obituary

Joseph Joe Frank Cuthrell, son of the late Vance and Mary Cuthrell, was born on June 6, 1944 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He departed this life on July 12, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He received his education at the 14th Street Elementary School and later at Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Joe was a member of the Methodist Church in North Carolina, baptized and saved in the House of God African-Church in Baltimore. In 1964 he left North Carolina and came to Baltimore, Maryland. He worked for the Railroad and had various other jobs, which included auto mechanic and Bethlehem Steel. He later became self-employed. He loved his antiques. He was a grumpy old man in his own way smile. Joe loved to work on cars, fishing, and his baseball cards. He was loved by everyone. It was nothing that he wouldn't do for anybody. He was married to Barbara Jackson for two years. He later divorced. In 1978 he met and fell in love with Alice E. Rodger, his beloved friend. He leaves to mourn; two brothers, Nathaniel Cuthrell and Sylvester Cuthrell; two sisters, Josie Arteria Moulty and Laura E. Walker, all from North Carolina. He also leaves to mourn; devoted friend, Alice E. Rodgers, stepchildren, Stephanie, Tyrone, Patricia, Daryl, shelia and Gideon; devoted grandchildren, Winzell, Tanzia, Sashay Duckett, Gideon and Tinicia; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends including devoted friend, David Crop Berry. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, two brothers, Vance "Yike" Cuthrell and Roosevelt Cuthrell and one sister Magalene Epps.
