Joseph B. Gray departed this life on June 29, 2016, after a brief illness.
He was born February 14, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland to Gladys
Gray and Charles A. Gray. He attended Baltimore City Schools.
Joe served two years in the U.S. Army and four years in the U.S.
Army Reserves. During the 1960's, Joe owned a moving company,
Gray's Van Service, where he delivered new furniture for several
furniture stores. He then worked for Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows
Point for over 25 years. While working at Bethlehem Steel, he used
his G.!. Bill to attend school and earned his barber's license. He
worked at several barbershops and nursing homes throughout Baltimore
City. He later became a Master Barber. He was also a member
of the American Legion Post 0285.
Joe loved to socialize and made friends very easily. He also loved to
sing, play guitar and piano. He will be missed by many.
He leaves to mourn: his wife, Angela Gray; six children: Joanne Gray
Richardson, Earl Ridgely Brown (Brenda), Douglass Brown (Donna),
Antoinette Speight, Ronald Johnson, and Patricia J. Gray; one brother
Charles W. Gray (Pauline); twelve grandchildren and twelve
great-grandchildren; close friends John Dauchery and Tony Devone,
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. An older brother,
John Blackwell, and two younger sisters, Lucille Gray Moore, and
