Obituary

JosePh Edmonds, Jr., was born [0 the late Joseph Sf. and Dina Edmonds on October 4, 1929. He slipped away peacefully while accompanied by his family and Rev. Dr. Gorham and The First Lady on October 5,2014. Jack, as he was loving called by his family and friends, was born in Halifax County, North Carolina where he attended Public Schools. Jack was one of seven children; Alice, William, George (Meat), Dora, Dina and Lucille, all deceased. In 1950 Jack married Virgin a Edmonds in Emporia,Virgina, moving his family to Baltimore, Maryland in 1953. Jack fathered (9) children: Pattie, Patricia, Catherine, Joseph, Edward, Yvonnne, Regina, Robert and Ervin. He was predeceased by four children Patricia, Yvonne, Robert, and Ervin. He was a devoted and loving father; grandfather and husband. In 2003 he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, "Virginia Edmonds". In 1954, Jack joined The Christian Memorial Church, where he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. He frequently fellowshipped with his church family and thoroughly enjoyed the service. Receiving many cards, visits and prayers from his church family. Jack worked for the Dukeland Packing. Due to his entrepreneurial nature he created several streams of income. He drove a cab, owned a Tractor Trailer Trucking business transporting commercial products from Baltimore to Pennsylvania, he was the owner of an Auto Mechanic business providing service to the West Baltimore community. During his free time he enjoyed socializing with his friends of many years at the Franklintown Road Hack Club. He was also a member of the King Solomon Masonic Lodge #3 A.F.& A.M. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Pattie , Catherine, Joseph, Edward, and Regina. One daughter in law: Lucinda Ward, Two son-in-laws Joseph Barber and Alphonso Missouri; 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 11 great, great grandchildren. And a host of family and friends. The family would like to respectfully extend a "Thank You" to Jack Edmonds' special friend and companion Ms. Martha Fuller. We thank you for your heartfelt support for our father and family. We truly appreciate all of the care, support and attention provided by his son in law Joe Barber. We also thank and appreciate Seasons Hospice staff, (Latrice and Shanice) for their support.
