Joseph Wilbert Miles, affectionately known as Joey was born on March
19, 1961 to James Walter Miles Sr. and Julia Bates. He departed from his
earthly family to his heavenly home on August 31,2017.

He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System at the
former Fannie L. Barbour #161 Elementary later known as Harbor City
and was a graduate of Edmondson High School. He attended Baltimore
City Community College for two years.

Joey listened to the radio for his musical pleasures and was partial to Kirk
Franklin. He was an ardent TV sports enthusiast along with being some-
what of an amateur collector of NASCAR model racing cars, coins,
stamps and various professional teams and college teams caps. He also
enjoyed watching the Food Network "Cook-offs" as well as a good meal
on the side for himself, i.e. soft shell crabs.

He was employed at Halpern Furniture Distributors where his senior
co-workers cared so much for him, he could have been a son or brother
to them.

His religious background was Baptist and when possible he attended the
neighborhood church.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, James Sr., mother, Julia and
his brother, James Walter Miles Jr.

Joey leaves to cherish and respect the character he displayed during the
many challenges he faced fighting his constant battle with diabetes, a
brother, Walter McKinley; two sisters, Jeanette Elizabeth and Julia Evon
Miles who devoted much of her personal time to his medical appoint-
ments and medications; a devoted family friend, Deacon Harry L. McRae
and a host of cousins and friends.
