JOSEPH LOUIS SIMMS was born on October 11, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Jeanette and John Francis Sr. After a long battle of his illness, Joe was called home to join his heavenly family on Friday, June 21, 2013. Most importantly, Joe had accepted Jesus Christ into his life as his personal Savior. Joe attended the Baltimore City Public School System and retired from Ash Sales Furniture Store as a Truck Driver. Also, Joe was employed with the Black and Decker Corporation. Joe loved horses and occasionally arabbed back in the early sixties. Joe enjoyed watching Western Movies on television and solving crossword puzzles. Joe was a loving kind man who always blessed you with his smile and kind words. Joe enjoyed sports and playing pinochle with family and friends. Joe leaves to mourn: the love of his life, Elaine Braswell-Simms; one brother, John Francis Jr; three sons, Joseph Ernest Simms, Maurice and Bernard; eight daughters, Rosalie, Portia, Ellen, Phyllis, Cynthia, Linda, Joann and Pamela; twenty-nine grandchildren; a host of greatgrandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a dear friend, Bennie Harper; and his wife Lula Harper.
