Joseph Witherspoon Jr., was born on March 2, 1945 to the late Joseph Witherspoon Sr. and Martha Wingate in Florence, South Carolina. On June 13, 2008 our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ took Joe to enter eternal rest. Joseph Witherspoon received his degree as a registered nurse in South Carolina and later came to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the University of Maryland Nursing School. He received his CCRN accreditation. During his completion of education he became a full time employee of the University of Maryland Hospital for thirty one years. Joseph Witherspoon was a life long member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Joseph made numerous friends wherever he went and will be loved ahnd missed by everyone who knew him. He was, and always will be, a true friend. Joseph Witherspoon leaves to mourn; two sisters, Miriam Brown and Rena Witherspoon; brother Sylvester Witherspoon; two nieces, Michelle Brown and Tiffany Witherspoon; nephew, Roosevelt brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
