Obituary

Josephine Jeanette Moss, daugther of the late Herbert and Nancy Mae McCauley, was born on November 21, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a short illness, Jeanette, as she was fondly called by family and friends went to receive eternal rest into the hands of God on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 2:15 p.m. Jeanette received her formal education in Baltimore City Public schools, obtaining her high school diploma for Southern High Shool. After high school, she became a home healthcare professional. After a short stint in this profession, she was employed by farboil Paint company and then obtained employment with Maryland State Department of Assessment and Taxation as a clerk. She retired on November 21 2004 after thirty-six years of dedicated service. On April 15, 1963, Jeanette married her first husband, James Hill. From this union she was blessed with two sons, Timothy deceased and Rodney Hill. Although Timothy passed away in infancy, Jeanette had many years to spend with Rodney, whom she loved dearly. Always desiring the best for him, she would purchase food in bulk to ensure that he would have enough to eat. As of this day, Rodney still has enough food for this year and the years to come. Jeanette was an active member at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church. A former member of Usher Board #2, member of the Precious Gems, and choir member, she worked in the soup kitchen and was also a member of the Matilda Moore Ministries Society. She not only enjoyed serving her church but worshipping there as well. Jeanette possessed a love of gospel music and listened to it on her large radio daily. She loved receiving videotapes of Sunday services from her church. During her illness, she would diligently watch these tapes, which gave her great joy. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory; her devoted and beloved son, Rodney; seven sisters, dorothy, Rovina, Mary, Elaine, Katherine, Renee, and Sharon; two brothers James and Ronald; two uncles, Abraham and Robert; five aunts, Luvenia, Marie, Vermell, Gardenia, and Maxine; a total of forty nieces and nephews, multiple great-nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents Herbert and Nancy McCauley; two brothers, Herbert Jr. and Gerald; and son Timothy and her second husband, James Moss.
