Ms. Joyce Denise Jackson (née Lancaster) was born on 10/13/1958 in Baltimore, MD to Robert Lancaster Sr. and the late Elsie Delores Lancaster. Joyce peacefully passed to be with her Jesus on 5/16/2021 in Baltimore, MD at the age of 62.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Mandi and son-in-law James Winchester, her dad Robert Lancaster Sr., her sisters Sharon Barr and Angela Gaither. Her life partner Timothy Bullock. Her step grandson Jeremiah, Her nephews Donnell Jackson, Barry Lancaster Jr., Jay Barr, and Keon Cobbs. Her nieces Sherri Barr, Shanae Creek, and Shannon Gaither. 7 great nieces and 2 great nephews. She is preceded in death by her Mom Elsie Delores Lancaster, Grandmothers Elsie Farmer and Edith Lancaster, Brothers Robert Lancaster III and Barry Lancaster Sr, her sister Robin Franklin, and her nephew Keith Gaither Jr.
Joyce received her K-12 education from the Baltimore City School System and graduated from Walbrook Senior Highschool. She also attended Baltimore City Community College. Joyce gave birth to her beautiful one and only baby girl Mandi on 8/27/1979. She was a wonderful and loving mom to Mandi. Mandi remembers her mom as her greatest gift who always encouraged her to pursue her goals and to be always the best version of herself. Joyce was also very close with her dad Robert and her sisters Sharon and Angie. Their sisterly bond was unmatched. For her nephews and nieces, she was like a second mom to them.
Joyce worked for Maryland State Corrections for over 20 years until her retirement. During her time with Maryland State Corrections she met her love Timothy Bullock, they spent many wonderful years together enjoying each other's company. Joyce was a God send to her family and those who loved her. Joyce was a generous caregiver who was dedicated to all who needed her. She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul who loved God and her family. She loved to travel abroad and domestically with her loved ones. She also loved to go casinos around the country with her loved ones. She especially loved Las Vegas. She was well loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
