On June 6, 2012, Joyce Theodora Ben quietly slipped away to be with Jesus after a lengthy illness. Joyce was born to Wesley Ben and the former Phyllis Gregory on May 31, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was called "Bunny" by close friends and family members. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System where she graduated from Good Shepherd High School. She enjoyed cooking and traveling and was considered a "jack of all trades" with an eye for detail. She was often thought of as hard to befriend but enjoyed many lifelong friendships. Her favorite saying was, "You are not too old to get knocked down." Bunny was the consummate "big sister" giving advice even if not requested. She is predeceased by her spouse, Floyd Wiggins, and her only child, Tarmara Denise Bailey, as well as an older brother, Michael. She was devoted to her only grandchild, Chanel, and they spent many happy hours together. She was the center of many family gatherings, and humor and wit will be sorely missed by all. She leaves to cherish her memory; a loving mother, Phyllis McArthur; father, Wesley B. Ben; granddaughter, Chanel Cheek; brothers, Eric, Thomas, Gary, Sean and Marcus; four sisters, Linda, Renee, Gina and Roslyn, three aunts, Sylvia Sims, Drexel Braxton and Brenda Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
