Julius C. Taylor, Jr., was born on January 24, 1926 in Lumberton, North Carolina. He was born to Elizabeth and Julius Taylor. He accepted Christ in his youth. Julius was united in holy matrimony to Ernestine Jones on August 4, 1956 in New York city. Their union was blessed with two children. Julius enlisted in the army in 1951. He continued to serve in active duty until November 1977. After retiring from active duty, he became Director of Army instructions, Bureau of ROTC for Chacago Public Schools. He retired in the early 1990's. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Socology from Virginia State University in 1950. Masters of Arts degree in vocational counceling from Roosevelt University in 1974. Master of Arts degree in management of Public Administration from Webster University in 1978. He received many decorations, medal and awards including; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal Germany, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietman Campaign Medal, Vietman Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, 4 oversea bars, Armed Forces Honor Medal and Legion of Merit. His biggest passion in life was his family and friends. His interest included, running, music, arts and serving in his church. Julius departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius C. Taylor Sr., His mother, Elizabeth Cotton C. Taylor and wife Ernestine Jones Taylor. Julius leaves to cherish his memormory; two children, Julius C. Taylor and Sharon Taylor-Hollimon; son-in-law, Michael Hollimon; gandchildren, Vanessa, Miles and Justin Hollimon.
