Obituary

Justin Martha Walker was one if nine children, born to the late Robert Amos and Ethel Smith Amos on September 4, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this earthly life for her eternal one on August 9, 2008. Justine began her spiritual journey at a young age in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in which she remained all her life. She attended Seventh Day Advwentist school suring her early years and later graduated from Dunbar high School. She has been a faithful member of the Edmondson Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church. Sister Waslker self-employed as an Adult Care Provider, where she lovingly provided a nurturing environment for special needs persons. Justine met and married the late Bernard Nance as a young man and from this union came Berard Nance Jr. Later in her twenties, she met and married the late Robert Lee Walker, Sr. and from this union came Robert Walker Jr. who preceded her in death, Rhonda Walker McCray and Corliss Ann Walker. Justine or "Tene," being the great cook that she was, started the tradition of preparing large family meals and never refused anyone at the dinner table. Those gatherings were special occasions filled with love, laughter, witty conversation and overall good times. She loved long rides with her husband "Bob" and the family, stopping at the Naval Academy to fish, Farmer's market in Glenn Burnie to eat barbeque chicken and Pigtown to have a tasty sub at Nick's. The holidays were always special in her home, and on Sunday mornings the house was filled with the aroma of fresh baked hot bread and spiritual hymns playing. During her later years she led a full life participating and leading activities at the Waxter and Northwest Senior Centers. She attended church regularly and especially playing games with her grandchildren. Justine leaves to cherish her memory; one son, Bernard Nance Jr; two daughters, Rhonda McCray and Corliss Walker of Baltimore; son-in-law, James McCray; sister, James Laforest of Upper Marlboro; brother-in-law, Jessie Savage of Baltimore; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Regan, Robert, Reggie, Grenetta, Heshiumu, Kamau, Julian and Kelly; grand-son-law, Keith; three granddaughters-in-law, Rebecca, Keisha and Shilo; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Rassi, Gabrielle, Robby, Josha, Jermard, Brandon, Trey, Timmy, Marquice, Justin and Imani; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
