Kay began her walk with Christ at an early age, and was baptized at New Esphesus Baptist Church in Semora, North Carolina. Kay received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System through her high school years at Eastern High School. Kay was employed by numerous companies, but she enjoyed being a factory worker most of all. Kay had a warm and outgoing personality. To know her was to love her. Kay loved spending time with her daughter, reading, writing, doing word puzzles, eating, watching Twilight Zone and Discovery ID, where she would call her daughter and talk about the different episodes. Kay had the prettiest smile that would light up the room. Kay had a deep passion for her family and friends, especially her grand-daughter, that she gave the nickname "Sweet-Pea."
