IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kedrick W.
Pompey
March 23, 1958 – March 8, 2018
Kedrick W. Pompey son of the late Wallace Harrington Pompey, and Ruth
Frances Pompey was born March 23, 1958. He departed this life on Thursday
March 8, 2018.
Kedrick (Pop-Pop) was dedicated and very diligent with continuing his
education. He would get up early to attend his classes and stay up late to
study for his exams. Continuing his education was a major goal for him.
Although, he had a few struggles along the way, he still continued to remain
focused on his goals.
Kedrick (Pop-Pop) was known by his friends as (Pomp) or Wayne. Kedrick
was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved watching
movies and playing games on the computer. He loved spending time with
his children and grandchildren. The grandchildren could get Pop-pop to do
anything. Kedrick was married to the love of his life Cynthia for 26 years.
He enjoyed telling everyone how he met his wife and how much he loved her.
He didn't care what the occasion was; he would tell you she was his wife.
They enjoyed shopping, singing, dancing, and most importantly each other's
company. If you came to their home he would feed you 10 times and would
offer you sweet tea made by him. His hospitality was unbelievable because
after you leave their home he would walk you to your car, open the door,
and once you're in the car, he would close the door, and tell you to lock the
doors, wave and say see you later. He was a caring, loving, and energetic
person that loved to laugh and joke all the time. His favorite saying was
"I don't play all the time" which means he is playing.
He is preceded in death by: Wallace Pompey (Father), William Pompey
(Brother), Almeta Stokes (Mother-in-law), Alfred Lee II (Father in-law),
Alfred Lee III (Brother-in-law), William Stokes (Brother-in-law),
Ray Woodland (Son), and Raymond Woodland (Grandson).
Kedrick leaves to cherish his memories: A devoted wife Cynthia Pompey,
Mother Ruth Pompey, two brothers; Harold Pompey, and Haywood
Pompey. One sister in-law Annie Pompey. Four children, three daughters;
