Kelly Bradford Staten was born in Windsor, North Carolina February 20,1951 to Florita Bond Staten and Bradford A. Staten. On Sunday, August 25,2013 Kelly was called home to his heavenly father. He attended local schools in Bertie County until the age of 16 years old. At that time he relocated to Atlantic City, New Jersey. He attended and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1969. Kelly then went on to further his education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning a degree in computer programming. Afterwards, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Washington State, and Alaska. Kelly was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from The 172nd Infantry Brigade for achievement while participation in the visit of the President of the United Spates, the Honorable Richard M. Nixon, and his historical meeting with Emperor Hirohito of Japan at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, September 26,1971. After returning home Kelly held various jobs, including working at Lenox China, Computer Programmer for Golden Nugget Casino, Dealer at Bally's Casino, Hard Count at Caesars Casino, and a Slot attendant at Harrah's Casino. Kelly relocated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1992. While there he resumed his education, earning a Master's Degree in Social Work, and working for the Veteran's Administration as a counselor, (McVet). Due to medical problems he was forced to retire. While living in Baltimore he found a church home at the Sacred Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church under Bishop Bertha Green, Pastor. There he was an active member, and always made himself available where ever he was needed. He was on the male chorus, the mass choir, and last but not least, a Deacon. He is survived by his two sons, Dameon Roberts and Tavares James of Atlantic City, New Jersey; two daughters, Shanise Bailey (Terry) of Mays Landing, New Jersey and Kelli Staten of Pleasantville, New Jersey; Four grandchildren, Damon Staten, Marciyra and Marcaysa(Cupcake and Jabba) of Mays Landing, New Jersey and Ja'Meela Roberts of Atlantic City, New Jersey; Two sisters, Beverly Lee of Brooklyn, New York and Doreatha Staten of Atlantic City, New Jersey; Three nieces, Tuwunna Lee, Natalie Bland, and Ciara Lee of Brooklyn, New York; and one nephew Bradford Staten Saddler of Atlantic City, New Jersey; Stepchildren, Brandon, Michael, Jasmine and Kawon of Baltimore, Maryland; and a special friend Carol Jones of Baltimore, Maryland. Kelly also leaves to mourn a host of cousins and friends. Kelly is predeceased by his parents, Florita Staten Salters, Bradford Staten, and his brother, Bobby T. Staten. Viewing Joseph H.
