Kenneth Henry Blackston, son of Martha Blackston Garvins and Emmit Benjamin, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 24, 1935. He departed this life on October 15,2013 after a lengthy illness. Kenneth received his education in Baltimore City Public School System. He retired from Vulcan Hart Corporation after serving 35 years where he thoroughly enjoyed his work building commercial stoves. In April of 1959, he married the former Mary Bernadette Spencer. From this union came five children whom he loved dearly. Kenneth was known affectionately by a variety of names; "Dad", "Old Dude", "Dada" and "Billy Black" just to name a few. He took pride in providing for his family, working hard, and helping others. His outgoing spirit made it hard not to appreciate being in his presence. No matter what you were going through, a hearty "No Charge" seemed to make everything ok. He also enjoyed singing and would drop a few verses at any given moment. He leaves to mourn: his wife Mary; one daughter, Bernice; two sons, William and Kendall; two sons, Ronald and Kevin that preceded him in death; two sisters, Barbara and Harriett; one son-in-law; Henry; two daughters in-law, Pamela and Joan; one sister in-law, Florence; thirteen grandchildren, Kim and Chuck Sr., LaTonya, and Andre Sr., Ronald Jr., Tameara, Keah, Blaire, Wade, Kendall, Jr., Kamilah, Iman, and Hassan; ten great grandchildren, Brianna, Skylar, Kevin, Mariah, Chuck, Jr., Ameer, Desmond, Jade, Andre, and Braelyn; two great great grandchildren, Ameer Jr., and Skye; and a host of other relatives and friends.
