Obituary

Kenneth Andrew Brogdon aka Flex, son of the late Charlie and Bernice Brogdon, was born January 3, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness, the Lord gave him rest, and called him home on September 11, 2020 at St. Agnes Hospital.

Flex received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System, and later learned the trades of Carpentry and Construction work. Flex worked for several carpentry and construction companies throughout Pennsylvania, Virginia, Connecticut, and Maryland. Flex was diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of 34 and after a massive heart attack at the age of 39 he was forced to go on permanent disability. As much as he tried to work doing private work for family and friends, his health would not allow it.

In june 1992, Kenny was blessed with his only child, Kanae Angelic Brogdon, he affectionately called "Noodles". In January 2013 he was blessed again with his grandson, Erik Lonesome III, he affectionately called "Big E". Kenny was pop to Kevin, Korine, Kenon, and Key'Andre; and Pop-pop to Kevin, Jr. and Breasia. Anybody that knew Kenny, knew he loved and cherished his children and grandchildren. Flex loved life, people, and cats. He was always the life of the party and had jokes that would keep you laughing for hours. No matter where he went, somebody became his friend.

January 2007 Kenny met Winifred Reid and after a short courtship, they were married in October 2007. Kenny joined the Inner Court Ministries church family where he was baptized. He loved the Lord and would often confess, "I don't know how I would make it without God's help." The nurse caring for him when he transitioned said he was happy, talking, and suddenly grabbed his chest and said, "God help me!" These were his last words.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bernice and his oldest brother, Charles, Jr. aka Leon.

His memory will forever be in the hearts of his wife, Winifred; Children: Kanae, Kevin, Korine, Kenon, and Key'Andre; grandchildren: Erik, Kevin, Jr., and Bre'Asia; one brother, Michael Brogdon (Rhyzel); one sister, Michelle Grissitte (Cleo); three uncles, George Brogdon, Jospeh Dillard, and Elijah Goode; four aunts, Louise Brogdon, Carrie Robinson, Virginia Goode, Joleeta Dillard; nieces and nephews: Romaul, Pearl (Derrick), Dominic Sr., Michael II, Ebony (Warren), Matthew, and Daniel; thirteen great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and relatives.
