IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth A.
Yow Sr.
May 30, 1958 – March 3, 2026
Kenneth A. Yow Sr. was born May 30, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the eleventh child of twelve children. Kenneth was the son of the late Samuel L. Yow. and the late Irene S. Gissentaner Yow. After a brief illness he departed this life on March 3, 2026.
Kenneth, fondly known as Kenny and sometimes Moe, was educated and attended Baltimore City Public Schools. He was a graduate of Frederick Douglas Sr. High School. His love for sports started early in life. While in High School Kenny played baseball and pitched a no hitter in 1975. After graduating in 1976, he began his career with Amtrak in 1977. Kenny dedicated forty-one years of service to the company before retiring in 2018. Following his retirement, his favorite and often-repeated phrase became, “I’m good.”
Kenny had a love for family and especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his world. If you knew Kenny you’d know about his big backyard bash cookouts, with plenty of food from pig feet, fried turkey, fried fish and lots of crabs, food you wouldn’t normally see at a cookout. You definitely can’t forget the water slides, the pony rides, and other activities and boy what a cookout if you haven’t been to one then oops you missed it. People would come from DC, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and surrounding counties just to attend and oftentimes these cookouts would turn into weekend events.
Kenny's love for sports continued, he and his two brothers along with the Sunday crew would gather together, those conversations were filled with excitement, friendly debates, and plenty of laughter before, during and after the games. After retirement Kenny had time to bond with his brothers at an Orioles game. In his past time Kenny spent most of his time traveling, he often traveled to Georgia to visit his children and grandchildren.
Preceding Kenny in death were his Parents Samuel and Irene Yow, his six sisters: Antoinette, Francine, Deborah, Gwendolyn, Yolanda and Gloria. To cherish his beautiful memories: His two sons; Keion (Aaliyah), Kenneth Jr: one daughter; Telia, three grandchildren; Kaela, Sierra and Kadin, two brothers; Clarence and Clifford, three sisters; Dauntaye, Carol and Sherise, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and nephews and other family members and devoted friends.
